The Government Medical College (GMC), Nashik was established vide Government Resolution (GR) dated 05 April 2021, with an approved intake capacity of 100 MBBS students and a 430-bedded teaching hospital.

At present, MPGIMER is functioning from the premises of the District Civil Hospital and New Bytco Hospital, Nashik, under a duly executed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The District Civil Hospital, Nashik, being the largest district hospital in North Maharashtra, caters to the healthcare needs of Nashik district and the surrounding regions.

Currently, GMC Nashik has commenced the MBBS program with an annual intake of 50 students.
